About Me Nate Terrell, LCSW

I have always had a passion for helping others. My 45-career as a therapist, life coach, and self-compassion trainer has provided me with the wonderful opportunity to help others overcome the challenges they face, find greater inner peace and happiness, and create the lives they want.

Fortunately, with the help of my wise son, I have finally begun to treat myself with the care and compassion I have always enjoyed giving to others.  Rather than make me more selfish, my quest to be my own best friend and take great care of myself has filled me with an abundance of happiness and inner peace that I can relish and pass on to others.

I am on a mission to spread the wonders of self-compassion far and wide through my book, Achieving Self-Compassion:  Giving Yourself the Gifts of Happiness and Inner Peace It is chock full of proven strategies to help you give yourself the loving care you so richly deserve!

I have also learned to give myself the gift of happiness through my experience with my beloved 34-year-old daughter, Nicole, who has a form of autism called Rett Syndrome.  

Although language is just noise to her and she needs a great deal of care, Nikki’s loving spirit inspires me every day. I relish all the lessons she has taught me about the power of unconditional acceptance and the pleasures of living in the moment.

I feel very grateful for the ongoing support of my wife, Anita, and the deep inner peace I find meditating and spending time in the woods.  I am also joyful that every day offers me the opportunity to treat myself and others with compassion, continue to learn lessons, and relish all that life has to offer!
